The Foyer of the Aula Magna serves as a registration area and space for coffee breaks.
You enter through the glass pavilion and take the stairs down into the foyer.
Meet here in the Foyer of Aula Magna before 16:30 to join the walk to the reception (we plan to leave at 16:30 sharp). Drop by a bit earlier to pick up your materials. USI’s Elisa Larghi and Diana Dos Santos at the reception desk will be happy to answer possible questions about the venue or Lugano.
At 16:30 sharp we will start walking together from the conference location (Aula Magna, USI) to the location of the welcome reception (LAC). Our walk will take us through some of the nicest locations of the city and along the lake.
If you miss this, you can quite easily find LAC yourself (walk along the lake in south-western direction, LAC is the modern building that sticks out towards the lake, at Piazza Luini). If you prefer not to walk, you also might want to take a bus. There is no direct bus from USI to LAC, but bus #1 or #4 go from “Lugano Centro” to “Piazza Luini”, and most buses (not bus #6, though!) stop at “Lugano Centro”.
If you missed Sunday’s registration and reception, you can still pick up your material at the registration desk now.
Enjoy a coffee and some sweets. Physical participants meet up with virtual participants in the five lounges (and get a special Swiss cookie for chatting with a virtual participant).
Virtual Poster Presenters go to their POSTERS room on Discord. Towards the end of the break we will make you appear in one of the five lounges so you can present to virtual and physical participants.
Physical Poster Presenters go to their physical poster stand, set up their laptop and connect to their POSTERS room on Discord. This way virtual participants can join the physical poster presentation (by interacting live through Discord).
